Boro Style
SLOW STITCHING
Boro is a traditional Japanese patchwork style used to repair garments and bedding. Small pieces of scrap fabric stitched to cover holes or thinning materials would over time create a beautiful patchwork.
Learn a modern take on this traditional craft. You will have lovely linen materials, recycled denims and cotton embroidery threads to work with as you discover how to piece together and stitch your own creation. Your slow stitched item could be turned into a pouch, journal cover, drawstring bag, or framed to hang! Use what you learn to mend your favourite jeans or much loved shirt and extend the life of your favourite garments.
Everything you need is provided but you are welcome to bring any fabrics you like to personalise your piece. You could bring old clothing or material that has meaning to you.
