BASKET WEAVING

Coiling is one technique of Basketry used by many cultures across the world. It is the action of wrapping, interlocking or stitching together a core material to create a form. In the 2017 workshops you will learn how to make a Wrapped Core Coil Basket with Lisa. This class suits any skill level so everyone can enjoy making baskets. You will learn 2 techniques of wrapped core basketry and enjoy using Lisa's own hand dyed raffia to create your own unique piece.
This is a timeless, relaxing and beautifully functional craft. There is such satisfaction in making something with your own hands that you can use and enjoy in your home and also gift to friends and family!

Twining refers to a weaving technique where two or more flexible weaving elements ("weavers") cross each other as they weave through the stiffer radial spokes. This technique will be taught in new workshops starting in July. You will be able to create your own piece using seagrass, jute, linen and other fibres.
